Syrian Doc Days is an international documentary film festival held in Copenhagen, Denmark, showcasing films from or about Syria and the Syrian experience, while creating a space for dialogue between filmmakers, audiences, and cultures.
The 2026 edition will take place from September 9 to 13, 2026. The festival aims to share stories of hope and resilience while fostering cultural exchange between Syrian, Danish, and international communities through film screenings, debates, and cultural activities.
Volunteer Opportunities – Syrian Doc Days 2026
Syrian Doc Days is looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join the team for the 2026 edition of the festival, taking place September 9–13, 2026, in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Volunteers play an important role in helping the festival welcome filmmakers, guests, and audiences while supporting the presentation of documentary films from and about Syria.
Festival Venues
Volunteers will assist at several cinema venues in Copenhagen, including:
Empire Bio, Gloria Biograf and Cinemateket.
Key Responsibilities
Before the festival
- Help spread the word about the festival
- Assist with hanging posters and distributing flyers around Copenhagen
During the festival
- Welcome audiences and assist international filmmakers and guest speakers.
- Support festival logistics and coordination at screening venues
- Assist with the Opening Night Dinner (September 9)
- Provide basic hospitality for guests (tea, coffee, and coordination)
Who Should Apply
We welcome volunteers who are interested in:
- documentary film
- Syrian culture and storytelling
- cultural exchange between Syria, Denmark, and international communities
- supporting independent film festivals
No previous festival experience is required. Reliability, friendliness, and availability during the festival dates are the most important qualities.
