Diaspora, Art & Collective Memory
Syrian Doc Days 2022 explored the experiences of the Syrian diaspora and the vital role of artists, filmmakers, and cultural voices in documenting the Syrian revolution and preserving its memory. Through six feature documentaries, three short films, and the conference Art, Literature, Documentation and Syria's Future, the festival brought together filmmakers, artists, writers, researchers, and audiences to reflect on identity, exile, creativity, and the future of Syria. With screenings across three venues in Copenhagen, as well as special events in Aarhus and Malmö, the festival expanded its reach and strengthened dialogue across borders through documentary cinema and culture.

Conference: Art, Literature, Documentation & Syria's Future
in Collaboration with Archiving The Future project in Copenhagen University: Eleven years ago, Syrians raised up and moved to change the regime in order to make a better society and life in the country. From the very onset, the Syrian revolution was distinguished by the fact that images and information were abundantly received daily and from different places across the country, as Syrians were using everything available to document every moment of the revolution and the conflict that followed its beginning.

Rap night with Mohamad Abu Hajar
Syrian Doc Days festival celebrates the end of its fifth version with a ceremony at Cinemateket. On Saturday 10th Sep in Asta bar, we met the Syrian rapper Mohamad Abu Hajar to listen to his songs, and know more about him as he was the main character of the winner film "The Story Won't Die".
