An experiment in empathy and tolerance leads the young participants from Syria and Denmark to a new understanding of themselves and each other.
Synopsis
An experiment in empathy and tolerance leads the young participants from Syria and Denmark to a new understanding of themselves and each other. In the summer of 2019, a group of young people from Syria, Turkey, the UK and Denmark meet for a two week theatre workshop, where they must interpret human rights in a collective performance. But first they have to agree on how the rights are to be interpreted, both artistically and politically - and suddenly there's a stark/palpable difference between whether you're from Syria or Denmark Even when you are not even aware of it. Director Camille Bildsøe observes with attentive presence how empathy and tolerance arise during the process. And how both can make an active difference in the real world.
